{our 2nd anniversary | ahwatukee couples photographer}

For our wedding anniversary this year, Mr. Lucky Shot and I stepped way out of our box.
Well, literally, we stepped away from the camera.
Since we got married in Sedona, AZ, we visit every year and just have a couple days away.
This time we decided to recreate some of our photos.

“Meg, did you hire a photographer?”

Besides myself? No.

“WHAT?! How did you manage that silliness?”

Our wits, and a tripod, ladies and gents.And it was an adventure!

{’13 first communion | ahwatukee portrait photographer}

Do you remember your First Communion? I sure do.
Pretty white dress, veil, my parents finally letting me wear some shoes with a tiny heel,
you definitely feel like a princess.

But my photos? One hand prayer pose in front of a grey wall and a bible on a table.
Kind of blah and standard, right?
But hey, portraits weren’t as huge then as they are now, so I’m thankful that families
are getting a chance to step out of the box and be unique on all different kind of occasions.

For this occasion I got to capture two special kids celebrating their communion.
Both families are from a different country, so they want shots in a “phoenix” type of setting.
Hence the dead grass and cacti in the far off distance :]

Charming and so gracious, I hope I have a chance to capture some actual family portraits before they move back!

{cheese-chick | phoenix business photographer}

You know what it all comes back to? CHEESE.
If every session included cheese, I’d be one lucky photographer, wouldn’t you say?

A few months ago I was fortunate to spend some time with fellow Phoenix food lover, Christine of cheese-chick.
She was getting to photograph her own project, a Best in Show sort of photo-mentary, if you will :]
So I was called in to help capture the workflow, and it was a blast! She is a doll and Kim, her food stylist, was amazing to watch.
(In case you’ve never looked into it, food styling is an art all its own. I tip my hat to her and all the other stylists!)
To say I learned a lot is an understatement! Initially I was nervous, as anyone would be having to shoot a fellow photographer.
I’d jump at the chance to do it again now!

cheers ♥ meg

Introducing the lovely Christine! (ps. easily now my favorite candid, EVER)
